INTERIOR OF A HOUSE – KE KÁČATŮM, BRNO

2022

The goal of the project is the construction modifications and interior design of a new family house in a terraced building on Ke Káčatům Street, Jundrov. The conceptual solution is designed for the comfortable everyday life of a young couple with two children. It is essential to adjust the layout on both floors. On the ground floor, a game of two shades of wood paneling is created. Dark natural wood is used in the "boxes", which each time have a different function. Between them flows a space of whitewashed wooden paneling, which defines a smooth passage through the space from the entrance to the garden. Here is a terrace with an awning. On the second floor, the emphasis is on atypical arches that replace sharp corners in cramped spaces. The overall rearrangement of partitions serves to create a new bathroom and optimize the original bathroom and dressing room. The proposal consists in adjusting the functions and dispositions of the two floors, without too much unnecessary intervention in the designed supporting structures. On the ground floor, the emphasis is on a uniform appearance, furniture, floor and wall covering. Collaboration: Daniel Behro, Diana Bevelaquová

HOUSE IN BYSTŘICE NAD PERNŠTEJNEM

2022

The original house was built as a single storey with an unused attic, cellar and barn. The layout did not suit the investor's development and the buildings were in poor structural and technical condition, so it was decided to demolish the house and replace it with new buildings. The goal of the project is the design of a new family house in the development of other family houses at the intersection of Farská and Zahradní streets in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. Emphasis is placed on the connection of original shapes and materials with new shapes and materials that underline the traditional character of the building and at the same time enrich it with modern elements. The main tract of the house follows the position of the original building that stood on the property, and is supplemented by two side wings extending into the garden. This creates a central atrium with seating. The connection of the atrium with the interior is through connecting surfaces, thanks to which the interior optically expands the exterior and becomes another. The attic is dedicated to children - the bathroom here are only children's rooms and. The roofs of the single-story wings function as green, above the garage with a living terrace. PARISH COMMUNITY CENTER - LIDEČKO

2022

The project deals with the reconstruction of the rectory from the 16th century (2nd phase unfinished) and the design of the community hall (1st phase completed) of the Parish Center of the Roman Catholic Church in Lidečko. Construction modifications respond to the relocation of functions within the building and adapt their availability to best suit the new requirements. The hall conceptually closes the plot, connects its parts and creates a space for outdoor activities. Symbolism in the concept of architecture as a process underlines the meaning and purpose of the building. The beginning is a representative public space in front of the church, used for church and community gatherings. The path follows around the covered public space, the outdoor vestibule to the rear terrace, including the torso of the former farm wall. The terrace offers a place both for the parish (ceremonies, exhibitions, theater, concerts, etc.) and for municipal associations or organizations. In the space between the Parish Center and the church, there is a gathering of people from the nearby and more distant circle of the local community. The center, which is variable in layout, is structurally designed as a brick building with traditional shingle cladding made of larch. VILLA TRIANGLE - BRNO

2020

The villa is located in a quiet area of Brno-Zabovresky. The layout did not suit the new owners, so there was an overall modernization and major layout changes. It is an implementation tailor-made with many atypical details and construction principles. The central motif, which is repeated throughout the house, is the shape of the triangle, which gently decorates the interior and exterior of the entire house. Especially in wooden and ceramic tiling, in folded solid floor, furniture and its handles or in black and white cement paving. On the 1st floor there is a generous and airy lounge with kitchen, dining area and living room, in the center of which there is a fireplace, the "heart" of the house. The connection with the garden is ensured by a large-area corner glazing, partly covered with a bamboo sunshade. Thanks to the replacement of the original truss elements with steel rafters and drawbars in the floor, the unused land becomes a large open space. There is a connection between the main and secondary tract, at the intersection of which is the bedroom. It is followed by a bathroom with glass entrance and shower. The glazing is reflected in a similar way on the other side of the side tract in the form of a triangular dormer, which forms a space for outdoor seating.

MELOWN TECHNOLOGIES SE OFFICE - STRAKONICKÁ, PRAGUE

2020

The proposal consists of  maintaining the existing principle of open-space and adding new material and spatially defined functional spaces. Cylindrical volumes are located in  contrast to workspaces in the middle of the layout and  partly around the perimeter. The rounded shapes respond to the triangular floor plan and create a smooth transition between the work and multi-purpose zones. In addition to the functions inside the cylinders, it also creates areas in close proximity for variable use, such as seating, areas for gatherings or company presentations and exhibitions. At the same time, it creates an imaginary security filter for privacy reasons in  work zone. Last but not least, the functions and overall visuals are complemented by a diverse range of materials with color and haptic variety. The imaginary heart of research and development is formed by a brainstorming and relaxation room with  dining room in the middle of the layout, there is a  the most important and valuable activities of the company. Therefore, the sides of the materials were conceived differently, comfortably and tactilely unusually, both by internal and external carpet tiling. Other volumes are translucent polycarbonate, wood, plasterboard or glass.

RECONSTRUCTION OF AN APARTMENT - ŠUMAVSKÁ, BRNO

2020

The building modifications consisted in the removal of vertical non-load-bearing structures and the design of a completely new layout. The diagonal layout changed the apartment from 4 + 1 to 4 + KK.  Rooms have separate entrances, while their location and orientation achieved greater efficiency in space. The apartment in a residential house in the spirit of socialist realism is designed from  combined load-bearing system, made of reinforced concrete pillars, girders and brickwork. The reconstruction therefore focused on exposing the original load-bearing structure and coloring it with various shades. Another task was the maximum use of all spaces with respect to the requirements of the investor. The central motif, which is repeated throughout the apartment, is a system of wooden shelves and cabinets, the functions of which vary depending on the type of room. The floors are wooden, the laying corresponds to the new layout. It is interesting that although the design and commencement of construction work began more than 5 years ago, the client has retained the desire to carry out the work gradually throughout, while adhering to the original design, for which he deserves great admiration. Usually, what doesn't happen right away is never done in the end!

HOUSE WITH OFFICES AND FLATS - ŠMEJKALOVA, BRNO

2019

The building modifications respect to the maximum extent the character of the First Republic house, originally designed with  small flats (1936). New interventions and materials underline its period values. The design repeats straight and rounded lines, the original  materials such as terrazzo, parquet floors and metal railings. The new functional use envisages  location of offices and facilities in  ground floor of the house. The layout here is based on one open space, divided by the inserted volumes. Each has a different functional content (call room, kitchen, cloakroom, toilet, storage). The layout with separate kitchens and sanitary facilities allows you to rent the space as another office if the training room is not used. From the kitchen there is direct access to the garden, there are grassy areas and podiums for outdoor seating. On the other two floors there are four flats of category 1 + KK and 2 + KK, partly based on  original layout. The apartments are designed to serve also as office space. The flat roof has a new use with several zones. In the future, there will be a relaxation area with an outdoor sauna, a cooling room and sun loungers; a social area with outdoor grill and seating area; rest area with hammocks. The greenery around the perimeter of the terrace is designed.

HOUSE IN LELEKOVICE

2019

The design of a single-storey and non-basement house meets the requirements of modern living for a family of five with small children, all while optimizing the communication areas in relation to residential areas. The client's requirement was to design a sober but original house at minimal investment costs. The shape of the house is based on a traditional country house with a gabled roof and the requirements of the local regulatory plan. On one side below street level, the perimeter masonry creates an imaginary protective shell without windows, on the opposite side it is glazed. It is therefore visually and acoustically closed to the adjacent road and opened to the courtyard of the garden. There are two boxes in the space of this shell, which divide the inner space into individual rooms. The social part of the house, the "heart" of the whole house, is open to the truss. The dominant glass facade is situated to the southwest. The building is located as close as possible to the northern boundary of the plot, which has increased the usability of the garden, which is not fenced. It unplanned serves, among other things, as a playground for the youngest inhabitants of  surrounding houses.

CAST IRON EXHIBITION IN MUSEUM OF THE BLANSKO REGION

2019

The architectural solution of the exhibition of artistic and utility cast iron in the premises of the Blansko chateau is based on the idea of creating a form in a clear and unifying way, which complements the exhibits rather than competing with them. The system of wooden shelves, podiums, panels and showcases winds similarly in all spaces and makes the cast iron exhibits stand out in neutral white. The possibility to let the visitor see the exhibits from near and far led to the concept of placing most of the exhibition space around the perimeter of the rooms. These areas are filled with recessed window sills, niches and in some parts they significantly change the floor plan dimensions of the rooms. In non-rectangular spaces with beamed or vaulted ceilings, there is an overall connection. Of the materials used, wood and steel construction predominate, the areas with rarer exhibits are glazed. The investor's requirement not to interfere with walls, floors and ceilings was complied with to the maximum extent.

RECONSTRUCTION OF AN APARTMENT - BRNO

2019

The project dealt with building modifications and the overall modernization of part of the apartment. Emphasis was placed on the layout that will meet the requirements of a young couple with a child. The main adjustments consist in removing the partition between the entrance hall and the cloakroom and placing a large closet with  shoebox. Further demolition of the partition between the hallway, kitchen and pantry and increase the kitchen space. All other rooms are accessed from the corridor. The kitchen is extended to the original pantry area. To increase storage space, there is a food cabinet next to the door. In the middle of the kitchen is a table with 6 seats. The material solution is simple and supports optical magnification of all rooms. All furniture is made of plywood in a light shade, on the floor is  light trowel, following the original floors. The kitchen, bathroom and toilet use geometric white tiles, which connect the entire interior with fine detail. The trowel is repeated on the walls of the toilet and bathroom.

RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX OF HOUSES - BRNO IVANOVICE

2019

The solved area is located on a gentle slope on the outskirts of the city of Brno - Ivanovice with a typical development of suburban houses. The urban solution is based on a grid that ensures an economically advantageous arrangement of plots with maximum permeability. The orientation of the proposed development respects and makes the most of sun exposure and visual axes.  The set consists of three  types  houses, based on a 3x3 m module. Each additional type is created by adding modules with different functions, which allows you to create covered areas or terraces outdoors. The added volumes instead of terraces can be lined with different materials, while the basic facade of the house remains. This preserves the unifying element of the entire residential complex, but the possibility of individual partial exterior modifications on the facade for clients is ensured. The basic type of development is a non-basement terraced house - type C, whose ground floor consists of an entrance hall, toilet with shower, technical facilities, which is followed by a kitchen with dining and living room and a garage with one parking space. Upstairs are three bedrooms, bathroom and dressing room. The total number of houses is 24.

RECONSTRUCTION OF AN APARTMENT - BRNO

2019

Building modifications and interior design first consisted of  effective use of the existing living room. Gradually, however, the assignment expanded to other areas. The division of the social part created a place for a new living room and bedroom. The layout of the living room is new, the sofa is moved to the corner and improves the functionality of the entire space, as well as is better connected to the dining room and kitchen. Above the sofa is a set of shelves with cabinets and next to it a fireplace insert. Opposite is a chest of drawers with a shelf and a place for a TV. The furniture in the dining room continues in the same spirit as in the living room, which visually connects the space - a white chest of drawers with wooden shelves and cabinets. The wooden surfaces on the floor, walls and cabinets are made of French-style oak parquet. The kitchen is materially different from the dining room and living room, designed in white  combination with oak veneer. The dining room is connected to  place the original bedroom children's room for two children, which is extended by a simple construction. The overall material concept is based on the different characters of the rooms within one open space.

INTERIOR OF A MAISONETTE APARTMENT - BRNO

2018

The construction plan dealt with the layout changes and the interior design in the duplex apartment of the new apartment building. The original layout included a living room with  kitchen, dining area on the lower floor and in  attic three bedrooms with  generous terrace. The original solution from the developer did not suit the clients, in addition, they demanded to place the main social space in the attic to the terrace. From the original design, only the staircase remained, everything else was rearranged. The corridors were eliminated, two comfortable bathrooms were designed, and the entire upper floor was rearranged so that all rooms had access to the terrace. The staircase, as a wooden element, opens directly into the living room and its morphology anticipates the play of wooden cubes and chessboards on the upper floor. The whole space in  The upper floor can be extended by opening the partition to the guest room. The predominant material is wood on the furniture or floor in  combination with  decorative resin trowel, which play prim in  throughout the interior. The three-dimensional wooden frames are made of solid oak chips. The whole interior is carried in  the spirit of aesthetic interpretation somewhere between Europe and Asia, exactly as it was in  client lives and our common communication.

LITERARY BENCH II

2018

The literary bench was created in order to provide a place in public space for  sitting and reading. The dynamic curve of the bookcase awakens the unused entrance to the town hall and gives the space a strong accent and the added functional value of the reading corner. The form is followed by a baroque portal with a dominant staircase, the function expands what is happening in the public space of the historic street. The material visually adheres to  artistically crafted blacksmith elements of the gate. The rounded shell consists of two identically symmetrical parts and softens the sharp corner of the base plinth. The coiling shape allows for comfortable double-sided sitting, climbing and inserting books. The possibility of disassembling both parts solves the problem-free handling. The material consists of black locksmith steel. Surface is water and damage-resistant anthracite trowel. The lockable polycarbonate bookcase door serves to increase maintenance-free operation.

SHOWROOM DECOR ITALIA - MORAVANY

2018

The new showroom is designed to present samples of various types of trowels, wallpaper and Venetian stucco. The concept emphasizes the possibility of presenting the maximum number of samples, space flexibility and simple and economical installation. The showroom consists of two main rooms - the exhibition space of trowels in  ground floor and space for displaying wallpaper samples on the first floor. The solution is based on the need to compare individual shades and trowels designs when choosing. Furthermore, the possibility of placing individual samples next to each other on the wall, on the floor or ceiling. At the same time, it allows you to easily move, take and add individual samples, all over a large area.

RECONSTRUCTION OF AN APARTMENT - LIPOVÁ, BRNO

2017

The task was to design the layout and interior of the apartment in a functionalist villa (author Ernst Wiesner, 1930) called Haas Villa. Construction modifications solve the maximum use of space with respect to the requirements of the investor, by removing non-load-bearing partitions and inserting a wooden box with  hygienic facilities in the middle of the layout. A more airy and illuminated space is created. The central motif in the apartment  is a system of wooden tiles with partial perforation. It allows a decent to mystical illumination of the interior without compromising the feeling of privacy. The concept works with a variable layout in many places of the flat. Especially in the east wing, where the room can be divided into a bedroom and a living room with a wooden folding wall. Further in the south corridor between the kitchen and the living room, a room for housework can be created by opening a perforated bathroom door. The new functional units will be in  the next stage carried out on the terrace, served by a sun bath, greenery, sitting area with barbecue and children's corner. In the next phase, the mass of the extension will be exteriorly highlighted by climbing plants, which will change their appearance over time. The common idea was to design a "house with a garden on the roof".

MONOGRAM ESPRESSO BAR - KAPUCÍNSKÉ SQUARE, BRNO

2017

The new espresso bar was designed in  listed building on Kapucínské square in the city center. The dominant element in the interior is the material division of two imaginary parts - sitting for visitors and preparing coffee with a possible presentation. Both parts are materially contrasting, interconnected and intertwined. A large free-standing bar primarily serves presentation and preparation purposes, part of which can also be used for bilateral bar seating. This seating allows the number of seats to be expanded, but also to draw the visitor into the center of the coffee. In the other part of the room there is one large "family" table. The visitor area is lined with wooden cladding to the height of the shop windows, the floor is also wooden. Several tilting doors are designed in the paneling, fulfilling the function of exhibition shelves. Two seats are designed in the form of wooden podiums and in shop windows, which serve as storage space, storage of coats, or placement of daily newspapers. As a suspended ceiling serves steel cables network. This net is also used for hanging  presentations or exposures.

INTERIOR OF AN APARTMENT - BRNO

2016

The investor's task was to design the interior of a three-storey house, which was designed by another architect. The main motif, which is repeated in all above-ground floors, is the use of wood (oak grout, ash) on furniture and recurring niches of various color shades or tree types. Living rooms are complemented by wooden floors. The whole space of the house is materially connected by light wood furniture (light ash) in  contrast with  areas of darker wood (core ash). The first floor includes an entrance area with a cloakroom, a hall with a laundry room and a  toilet and common room with  distinctly toned furniture and access to the garden. The second floor consists mainly of a living room connected to the kitchen and dining room. Followed by a corridor with entrances to the pantry, toilet and study. On the third floor there are two children's rooms, a bedroom and two bathrooms. All floors are connected by a functionally and expressively dominant wooden staircase, which with its dynamic curve creates a "sculpture" winding  the whole house.

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE HOUSE - BRNO

2016

The reconstruction includes building modifications and the overall modernization of a historic house built in the 1930s. Emphasis is placed on a new layout that meets the requirements of a modern family of four and with the possibility of a multi-generational layout in the future. The main modifications are to move the bedroom to the annex of the house, which is in a quiet garden courtyard, and to connect the two living rooms into one generous one. This creates a large social space across the house with a kitchen, dining area, relaxation respirium and living room, connecting garden and street life. In addition, this space is complemented by a new cubic volume with hygienic and technical facilities, which connects with its material concept to the facade of the annex. When viewed from the interior to the garden and vice versa, the contrasting connection between new and original construction interventions is visually apparent. The concept of connecting the original and the proposed one is underlined by a similar material concept of the new roof dormer. Overall, the design highlights the symbiosis of new and old within another clue in the history of the house.

RECONSTRUCTION OF AN APARTMENT - BRNO

2014

The apartment with a very small usable area was renovated to a duplex. Of the original 24 m2, the living space and facilities have expanded by a total of one third. The main dominant element is the built-in construction delimiting the kitchen and the bedroom above it. It creates a "room within a room".

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE HOUSE - LERCHOVA, BRNO

2014

The aim of the reconstruction was the reconstruction of a family house into a multi-family house. The basic idea of the proposal was to acknowledge the original and new parts, both formally, operationally and materially. New volumes "grow" in and out on each floor of the house, including the roof. The horizontal and vertical constructions of the built-in parts are designed from a wooden building, lined on the outside with larch slats in the oblique direction and in the interior with spruce boards in the vertical direction. The various surface finishes thus underline the concept of acknowledging the original and new parts.
